Tuesday Book Discussion

Tuesday, March 21st at 1:00pm. Join us as we discuss The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin. A best seller when it was first published in 1963, it added a  persuasive voice to the growing Civil Rights movement. Written as two letters for the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation, it urged America to face up to its insidious legacy of racism. “The Fire Next Time”, in its passion and power of language and purpose is considered an American literary classic.

Extra copies will be available at the circulation desk. Newcomers always welcome!
