Tuesday Book Club Title for January

Join us as we discuss Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This is a collection of essays, by a Native American botanist who is also the Director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment at the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Kimmerer seeks to connect us to our environment in a way that reciprocates the bounty given. She employs both science and the native wisdom it validates to develop a sustainable and respectful approach to earth. It is her belief that in the process of healing our land and waterways we heal ourselves.

Extra copies will be available at the circulation desk.

The discussion will be held in the library’s meeting room. Newcomers always welcome!
