“The Man Without a Face” by Masha Gessen is the nonfiction work to be discussed at the January 14th meeting of the Tuesday Book Discussion Group. Subtitled “The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin”, it traces the early life of Putin and his eventual rise to power. One reviewer describe the book as the story of how “ a low level, small-minded KGB operative ascended to the Russian presidency and in an astonishingly short time destroyed years of progress.”
