To Bee or Not To Bee

Bee Terrane_edited-2In October’s display case, artist and jeweler Gloria Nilsson brings awareness to the plight of the honeybee in her brand new jewelry collection titled “to Bee, Or Not To Bee”. The Honey Bee, the great pollinator we cannot live without, becomes her muse for creating unique, sculptural jewelry pieces in this season’s display during the month of October. Nilsson’s original interpretations blend whimsical honeybees in a variety of colorful floral motifs. Her one-of-a-kind, handcrafted designs integrate leather, wirework, polymer clay, black spinel, Swarovski crystals, dragon’s blood jasper, cultured pearls, agate, yellow turquoise & black spotted quartz. Several designs feature original polymer clay magnetic clasps, and hand forged bails, clasps and ear wires in bronze. A portion of all proceeds to benefit the Killingworth Library.
