Join us as we discuss The Worst Hard Time: the Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl by Timothy Egan.
Winner of the National Book Award for Nonfiction, the book describes the man-made ecological disaster that hit the high plains during the 1930s, colliding with that other man-made disaster, the Great Depression. Egan writes about the larger social and political issues of the time, along with the poignant, heartbreaking efforts of individual farmers and their families to survive and keep their land.
