Virginia Hall was sent by the British as a Special Operations Executive Agent to southern France to lay out critical groundwork there for an organized resistance. Genevieve Valentine’s review for NPR describes the book as a “compelling biography of a masterful spy and a reminder of what can be done with a few brave people—and a little resistance.”
