The January Mystery Book Club Selection

We had an interesting discussion the other night, January 19th: Farewell My Lovely by Raymond Chandler.  We felt that he is an excellent writer, and for writers at that time, one well thought of.   Although the discussion centered around the time period and the environment at the time, we also discussed the subjects:  black prejudice, gambling, murder,  political and police corruption.   There are three movies by this title, the last in 1974.  We rated the book a 3.6.

Join us as we discuss Farewell, My Lovely by Raymond Chandler.

Philip Marlowe’s about to give up on a completely routine case when he finds himself at the wrong place at the right time to get caught up in a murder that leads to a ring of jewel thieves, another murder, a fortune-teller, a couple more murders, and more corruption than your average graveyard.

Extra copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.

The discussion will be held in the library’s meeting room. Newcomers always welcome!
