The library is the final stop on Santa’s tour of Killingworth on Sunday, December 18th!
Please note this is a new date.
We don’t know the exact time of Santa’s arrival, and while the library is not normally open on Sunday, we will be open from noon – 2 pm that day so families have someplace warm with restroom access while waiting.
All of the details of Santa’s route are below, with our thanks to the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company for providing this wonderful event for our community!
Santa will be departing from station 1 (on Route 81) at 11:00am. We will be heading north on Route 81 to 148 West towards Durham. Traveling up 148 and taking a left on Stone Hill Drive – through the loop then straight across 148 to Burr Hill Road. We will then take a right on to Pond Meadow Road to Route 81. Heading north on Route 81 and taking a right on to North Parker Hill Road. Then another right on to Parker Hill Road and following this back to Route 148. We will then take a right on to Route 148 heading back towards the light. At the light we will take a left back to 81 to our first stop at Parmalee Farm.
After stop 1, Santa will depart from Parmelee Farm, heading north on 81 to east on route 148. We will then take a right heading south on middle Roast Meat down to Route 80 and across to lower roast meat. We will then make a loop on Keith Circle. After Keith Circle we will continue heading south on Lower Roast Meat to 81. We will then go across route 81 to Laurel Ridge and up to Cow Hill Road. At the top of Laurel ridge we will take a right on to Cow Hill. Once on Cow Hill we will take a right and go down Beech Tree Ridge. At the bottom of Beech Tree we will take a right on Chittenden heading all the way out to Route 81. We will then take a right heading south on 81 to stop number 2 at the BarrelHouse.
After stop 2 we will continue on from the BarrelHouse taking a right on to route 81, then a right on to Stevens road. At the end of Stevens we will take a left on to Green Hill Road. following Green Hill road down and taking a right on to Coughlin. Heading down Coughlin to Buel Hill then down Beaver Dam. After Beaver Dam back to Coughlin then to Fawn Hill taking a right on to Cow Pen Hill Road. From Cow Pen Hill Road back to Green Hill. Then we will take a left on to River road to Granite Hill then back to river road. Continuing on River Road to Chestnut Hill. Chestnut to Bargate and Bargate back to Chestnut. Taking Chestnut back to Route 80 East. Once traveling on Route 80 East we will then be taking a left on to Hemlock, then following Hemlock back to Route 81. Once were back to 81 we will take a left heading north on 81 to stop number 3, the Killingworth Library where this will end Santa’s journey.
If we don’t come down your road please feel free to meet us at the closest intersection. ALL are welcome to come meet Santa at any of the 3 stops and get your pictures taken. We will ask everyone to stand in a line to make it easier for pictures. We anticipate being at each location for approximately 30 minutes (maybe less, maybe more depending on crowd size). We do not have set times for the locations because it is hard to predict how long it will take traveling on the back roads but we will be posting updates on facebook.
