On May 9th, the Homeschool Book Club will be discussing Always, Clementine, by Carlie Sorosiak.
This is a humor-filled, heart-tugging tale of a genius mouse named Clementine who is secretly freed from a lab and is in search of a real home—and a way to free her old friends.
She discovers an outside world full of wonders: Brussels sprouts, games of speed chess, television fame, and a chance for a real home. But for Clementine, it’s not enough to be free when she knows that Rosie and the other mice are not. This lively adventure is narrated in letters from the mouse to a chimpanzee.
It shows us that goodness is something we have to define for ourselves—and that courage and wisdom aren’t proportionate to size.
Copies are available behind the circulation desk.
The discussion will be held in the tween area. Homeschool students are welcome to sign up with Mrs. Fig. by emailing her at jfigurelli@killingworthlibrary.org.
This book group is for readers ages 9 –11.
