Fire Prevention

October starts the season of candles, fireplaces, and holiday cooking – it’s also the month of Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 8-14. This month’s display case comes courtesy of Killingworth’s Fire Marshall Jim McDonald, and reminds us all to take care and plan ahead to stay safe in the presence of fire. Copies of the brochures on display are also available in our reference section – learn about home emergency drills, smoke alarms, CO2 detectors, fire extinguishers, and safety specifics with candles, in kitchens, and at college. There is also information about joining the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company. We thank them for all they do to keep us safe!
