Tuesday Book Discussion

Tuesday, July 11th at 1:oopm. Join us as we discuss Judas by Amos Oz. Winner of the 2015 International Literature Prize, it is a coming of age tale, a love story, and as one critic describes it “ an illuminating perspective on the state of Israel and the biblical tale from which it draws its title.” The time is 1959, the setting an old house in Jerusalem where biblical student Schmuel Ash takes a position as caregiver to an old man. The house is also inhabited by a woman, daughter of a now dead Zionist leader. The mysteries and betrayals of the house and its inhabitants are well told by this highly regarded author. Extra copies available at the circulation desk, newcomers always welcome!
