July’s display case features stunning hand-carved birds by Killingworth resident Robert Stak. Mr. Stak’s hobby has produced some amazing results – each bird looks ready to fly, eat, or return your gaze. Check out the small details: an inchworm eyed by a Carolina wren, acorns and leaf litter beneath the feet of a chickadee and a sparrow, a lizard hiding from a falcon, and even a ladybug creeping up the cattails next to a stately great blue heron. Mr. Stak’s carvings have appeared in past woodcarving shows, and one often finds its way into St. Lawrence Church’s silent auction. We are proud to host this beautiful flock!
