Pam Meier, a DEEP certified and licensed turtle specialist, responded to our call for the safe relocation of a snapping turtle that decided to snuggle into the vegetation too close to our main sidewalk. “Dewey” was not happy about being dislodged from his comfy spot, but after a few minutes of adjusting to his new surroundings, decided to head off into the safety of nearby woods.
Dewey was moved for both his safety and the safety of our patrons. Turtles are very active this time of year – please try not to disturb turtles that you find – most will find their way to a safe spot on their own.
