Tuesday, November 15th at 1:00pm. Join us as we discuss A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra. The story’s time line is 1994 through 2004, its location a rural village in Chechnya. An eight year old child watches Russians take her father away and burn down her home. A lonely neighbor takes the girl to what remains of a run down hospital and its single exhausted doctor. Unexpected phenomena will spring from the coming together of these three souls. Good reads reviewed this first novel as “ a work of sweeping breadth, profound compassion, and lasting significance.”
