Mushroom Collecting for the Table

Thursday, November 30th at 7:00pm. Terry Doyle will hold a program on “Mushroom Collecting for the Table” at the Killingworth Library. In his Powerpoint presentation, Dr. Doyle will show the poisonous mushrooms one needs to avoid followed by the mushrooms he has collected in Killingworth and whether they are edible. He will describe the identifying characteristics and types of mushrooms. 

Dr. Doyle and his wife Felicity have lived in Killingworth since 1986. He has had two hobbies for the past 40 years: carpentry and mushroom collecting. Since retirement from the pharmaceutical industry, he has served on several town committees including the Inland Watercourses and Wetlands Commission, the Parmelee Farm Committee and the Energy Committee. He has been a member and past president of the Killingworth Lions and is presently a member of its board of directors.
