Local poet Sara Ingram

Sara IngramThursday, April 16th at 7:00pm. Local poet Sara Ingram published “Sounds of House and Wood” in 2013 and plans to present the “stories behind the poems” which include her own memories of shelving books in the library and growing up in Deep River.

The poems in Sara Ingram’s “Sounds of House and Wood” offer a grand amalgam of joy and doubt, summer and winter, play and work. Most of all, they are love poems: love of childhood, of marriage, of self-discovery, of New England.

Sara Ingram has been involved with literature and arts-related pursuits for many years. She is a former editor of the Globe Pequot Press, a dancer and choreographer, as well as an instructor of the gifted in Connecticut public schools for the past twenty-five years. Ingram is a member of the Connecticut Storytelling Center and the Connecticut River Poets.
The event is free but advance sign up is encouraged.
