Discussion of The Book Thief

bookthiefTuesday, March 25th, 7:00pm.
The story revolves around a young girl being raised by foster parents in a small town outside of Munich during WWII. The growing hardships of war and deprivation on ordinary people are brought home in ways large and small as the Nazi insanity impacts the lives of young and old. First published in 2005, the book has continued to gain recognition as book clubs and middle and high schools have put it on their reading lists. “The Book Thief” has also been made into a movie. Like many books that have been categorized for both young adult and adults, it is a many-layered tale.

Kathleen Amoia, who leads book discussions at the Middlesex Institute of Lifelong Education at Middlesex Community College and writes book reviews for the Killingworth Krier, will guide the discussion at Killingworth Library.

Please register in advance by calling the Killingworth Library at 860-663-2000 or stopping by in person.
